Prompted from the white wine thread. What are some good and fairly cheap (let's say in the $20 and less) red wines. Merlot? Pinot Noir? Cabernet?

For under $20 i'm drinking... Layer Cake Malbec, red diamond merlot, Gnarley Head Cab, and i can't recommended the Dona Paula Malbec enough (might not be as easy to find as the others).

Calandros offers a couple of malbec wines for 12,13 dollars. I also like the menage a trois red...its about 11 bucks.

Perrin 2007 Côtes du Rhone Villages. About $13/bottle. Martin's promotes it heavily.

Crios, Ravenswood, and Norman Estates have good wines. Also, if you are in Texas, try Becker Winery...make pretty damn good wines LINK and also Grape Creek LINK
