That's what I was initially referring to in my post, but honestly on further thought, it would have the same effect anywhere in Baton Rouge.
I had the unfortunate honor of having been Facebook friends with local radio stations/news stations, and there are times they ask the public of BR where to get the best _____ .
The amount of people that name shite places is astounding.
That just seems to be a general truth across America. A lot of people just have shitty tastes or they are easily influenced by marketing/advertising to think places are awesome.

I think Fat Cow could make the general public think it's "gourmet" just as easily as it has made college students think it.
And like I said, using creative ingredients that are supposedly fresh and locally sourced is not something I'm hating on. It's just that the burger itself has the oddest taste I've ever experienced with a burger. You can throw goat cheese and fois gras on it if you want, but the patty isn't good :/
Yes it all begins with doing the basics well first .. THEN you can start getting fancy or crazy with everything else.

It is Baton Rouge. Not surprising at all.

neither the bread nor the meat is any good.
The toppings are absolutely solid, but the only burger i've ever had in BR that I disliked more was Mug Shots.

I'm not even talking about their specialty ones. I'm talking straight up just regular burger. The simplicity is rather good as well. I'm not knocking Dearman's or 5 guys, or Muggshots (well maybe I am knocking muggshots, they've shot the wad my last two times their) I just really like their bun, the tenderness of the meat, etc...
