Is someone else paying the bill?

You'll probably like the "oyster dome" soup appetizer...

Have one person get the bread pudding and something different for another dessert - a la "Praline Parfait".

The rack of lamb is Colorado, and certainly looked big enough to feed two for $44...

It strikes me as odd how much you discuss sushi places, whenever I see you post this.

What do you eat at those to form such strong opinions on them?

I'm only allergic to white flaky fish

Redfish, drum, catfish, tilapia...

I can eat everything at sushi restaurants other than whitefish

I have no explanation for how that happened. I eat tuna and salmon often with no problems. Oddly enough seabass doesn't bother me either. I think the Universe just wants me to go broke eating expensive fish.

Gotcha.

It sounds like any coldwater fish is okay? Odd indeed.

Shellfish okay?

It's on the bowl, and that's about it.

I've always liked the shrimp and tasso henican. Sometimes, I order an entree version for lunch. I'd have that app with the veal chop since you can't have the fish, unless there's a special that you'd like. The menu does vary, so it may not be exactly what's on the site.

I think the oyster dome is just okay. I was expecting more flavor that what it had, but I've only had it one time.

The bread pudding souffle is good to try if you've never had it, but I have a fetish for creme brulee and I have a difficult time not having that if I'm having dessert. Sometimes, there's a dessert special, though, and it's seasonal, so I'll give that a whirl.

That being said, I would take the chicken & oyster gumbo they serve every day of the week.

I have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy it.

You HAVE to get this, at least once.

The bread is great.

The turtle soup is really good, but the menu changes all the time. I would just get something that sounds appealing to you. Pretty much anything is good.

I usually find myself getting a fish or pork dish there.

ETA veal chop is very good as well. Though I'm big on what ever the special is.

That is good too, made with Absinthe.

I always get the Soups 1-1-1, which are stellar. I also usually get a steak, which are top-notch as well. Had the famed souffle once and wasn't all that impressed; I usually opt for the Bananas Foster. My favorite restaurant, anywhere.

yeah its a little cup of the Gumbo, the Turtle Soup and whatever the soup special is.

Really good for a first timer, if you aren't sure if you will like the gumbo or the turtle soup.

You won't see it on the menu, just ask the lead waiter for soup 1-1-1, if you want it.

Used to go there pretty frequently about 10 or so years ago. Is Elvis still the chef?
