I don't care for double IPA's. My alcohol preference threshold for beer tops out at 8.5%

plenty of room for a good DIPA under 8.5%

Besides Ghost, are any of those other DIPA's sold in Louisiana?

Gnarly nailed Brightside for their first attempt. I thought it was excellent. They told me they're going to add a different hop next batch. Forget which one he said.

This beer is only going to get better. Just like GiTM did.

And to also confirm, they have the canning process already in motion. Not sure when, but soon.

Agreed. It's fantastic, especially for a first effort at a scaled up recipe.

Mosaic. That kinda scares me given my past issues with that hop. But Parish uses it in Opus Vert, and I don't get any of the nasty arse green onion from it, so maybe there's hope.

Two different types of beer and both delicious. If you're asking asking which one I would rather drink?

Hmmm. Tough call. I'll let you know after further research

Mosaic is tricky. I think that's a hop that does well in moderate amounts, but there is a quick tipping point where it goes from fruity to green onion. The last few beers with Mosaic hops i had was mostly green onion/garlic. Lone Pint Yellow rose, i picked up a good bit of green onion. And of course, commotion.

Agreed.

I might have to get a fill of Coalescence this weekend.

So Mosaic is the only hop used in Yellow Rose? Still want to try it.

I thought Brightside was pretty good. Definitely has those nice juicy flavors in aroma and taste. Looks and feels the part of a hazy, NE style IPA. I thought it finished a little too sweet as it warmed (I found the same issue with their Big DIPA). I think some dank bitterness on the back end would help balance the finish and add some complexity. Wouldn't put it on the level of Opus or Ghost, but it is a real nice start. Props to Gnarly Barley for getting with the times and giving us another solid hoppy option

One of my local favorite beers is a single hop Mosaic triple IPA called Half Hitch. I don't know if you've tried it, but it is a great beer and I'm sure it has a ton of Mosaics in it. I'm pretty sure Half Hitch is not one that B has had problems with, and I've never picked up onion from it. I don't know how they do it.

Finally tried this and really enjoyed it. Agree it's slightly on the bitter side, but I was fine with that. Reminded me of the first batch of OV, but I only had one 4pack so I could be mistaken. Can anyone tell me which hop is most forward in the nose? I smell it in Ghost and have always wondered.
