Go to St. John. Go to Joe's Rum Hut. Order Bushwhacker.

I prefer the ones made with kahlua, creme de cacao, and coconut cream....not the ones made w/ice cream.

The original drink started in the Caribbean and when it migrated to P’Cola many of the additional liquors were left off the original drink. So if you want a buzz make the Caribbean version. If you want just a chocolate coconut shake then make the P’Cola version.

Do a little homework online and the recipes are there. I just went through this exercise and I am still working on a recipe that I am happy with. I do not want ice cream in this drink as it is already sweet.

If you’re beach trip is to orange beach there’s a daiquiri shop at the wharf that has solid bushwhackers.

I bought a half gallon from a brewery on Friday. Drank a third and filled back up with silver rum and chocolate liqueur. I like the chocolate to offset the coffee. Then mixed a little milk back in over the next day or so.

They were pretty damn good. A lot of rum.

The ones at One Love on Jost Van Dyke were pretty damn fantastic!

Attempting to communicate with Seddy was an adventure all on it's own.

2 oz. coconut rum 1 bottle
6 oz. bailey's 3 bottles
4 oz. amaretto 2 bottles
4 oz. kahlua 2 bottles
2 oz. vodka 1 bottle

Blend with ice.

I make large batches with the scaled up recipe and keep it in the refrigerator.

Baileys must be a new adapted ingredient to the drInk. Never heard of this.

A bottle- is this a 5th, a liter, or a handle?

If anyone finds a good recipe, please let me know. I’ve never found a good homemade bushwhacker recipe worth a damn, but I love those things.

Each bottle should be equivalent in size. I got the recipe from St. Thomas at the bar at the top of the mountain.

As long as they are all the same size
It’s the ratio that’s important

Just ice. It’s not as sweet as you would imagine. If you are feeling fancy grate some fresh nutmeg on top.

Secret is to blend it using liquid ice cream beverage mix as the mixer.
