Popped into king soopers and they had real Gambino’s King Cakes for $9. Why? No idea but they are there in numerous locations apparently

I think there is a decent sized contingent of south Louisiana folks over there.

Yes, all over town. King soopers is a grocery store chain in area. I found mine in Lafayette, north west of Denver but before Boulder, nothing special about that store. Baker said they get a bunch. I’d imagine other stores have them too.

Considering that Gambino’s charges $13-15 online for the cakes, Inhave a hard time understanding how anyone can order and ship them to CO for a consumer price of $9.00. Hell it costs me almost $50 to have one shipped from them to me in GA.

I walked into Gambino's in Lafayette last Friday afternoon and they didn't have a King Cake in the store (at the time) for less than $22. I walked out.

Same here. Which is why I convince others to through a Mardi Gras Party and order 4 at a time to cut shipping costs.

No, they're King Soopers brand. They're not Gambino's. We just stopped in and checked them out at the one on Constitution.

Some places in Birmingham are charging $30 for their dry brioche bread with colored frosting.

And for folks not in Louisiana who don't want to order one online, it's really not that hard to make a decent king cake.
