Clary's and Rudy & Paco's are the best meals on the island, IMO.

Olympia is damned good.

Cafe Michael burger is far down the West end, but better than The Spot for a burger.

Guido's is awesome as well, but kasey's next door is better if you're dragging kids with you. Food comes out of the same kitchen for both restaurants.

will have to try these next time I'm down there

The restaurant with the big crab on the roof that was "caught in Galveston" was good about 15 years ago. Is that Gaidos?

Gaidos is good but I wouldn't go with kids.

The Spot sucks imo. Sorry Ham

Eat Cetera is good for option for lunch if you're still on the island.

When I was younger I spent EVERY DAY OF SUMMER in galveston. Gaido's is one of the best options there, although my parents went recently and said it's gone downhill a bit (sad). They have the BEST shrimp bisque.

Mario's Pizza is good too; they have a good buffet but their italian dishes are pretty good too

The Rainforest Cafe at 6:45 on a Saturday was an absolute zoo. Reservations were a perfect call by my father's wife, the kids (ages 7 and 3) were thrilled, and the service was surprisingly decent. There were no less than 100 employees there I'm sure. Did the ride afterwards with them....didn't throw up. Think the "It's a small world ride" with jungle animals. While the food was disappointing (of course), we hit up Benno's for lunch the next day and had a much better and casual lunch where we all got our touristy seafood fill. I wasn't surprised that it was of the walk up/pay then sit and have it run out to you after reading LL's post. It didn't bother us in the least and was probably more efficient. By the time we left there it was also a mob scene with a line out of the door.

Di Bella's.

Best Italian food on the island - locals go there. Introduced to it by my in-laws. Amazing food!
