Part of it was location. The CCL crowd can only put so many arse in the seats.

Yea right. The busiest place in BR is right down the street in Ruffino's, don't use that as an excuse

And Ruffino's doesn't do lunch except Fridays.

Can't blame Galatoire's for wanting to tap both markets.

the original galatoire's bistro up here sucked. the chef sucked and the food was just average.

He is currently the chef of the Bourbon location. Although I heard he left that position. But its still on their website.

I believe there was a different chef at the bistro when they first opened though not sure where he is now.

the biggest problem for them is BR people not going there because it is from New Orleans and a NOLA based "franchise"

The biggest problem is Georges running it into the ground. He ruined the Highland location, I'm sure this one will be as mismanaged.

I also had some fine meats at Gal's BR. The atmosphere certainly wasn't the same, but it was fine for a restaurant of that calibre. Location wasn't the best for my taste, but the food was fine.

The new location is more appealing to me.

Well you think people got pissed when they did away with chipped ice, wait until he builds his Dallas and Houston Galatoires. They are in the making.

And I frequented the BR location because it was convienant for me. I always enjoyed it but Ruffinos ran circles around it especially the last year when Peter and Ruffin bought out TJ Moran.

And Ruffinos did not open for Friday lunch until after Galatoires closed.
