Looks like Walmart carries it now. I've always had to go to an Asian market for it and I don't really have one near me.

I bought some, just so afraid to use it!

Alot of people put in everything. I just use it in Asian cuisine. The most important thing is using a high quality sauce and red boat is it.

Whole Foods stocks it now as well.

Don't be! If you'd put worcestershire sauce in something, fish sauce will work as well. On top of it, if it's something that has umami flavors (tomatoes, mushrooms, broths, etc.), fish sauce can give it a kick. It's powerful stuff and goes from "what the hell is that delicious flavor" to "GOOD GOD, WHAT DID YOU DO?!" fast, though, so just add it a quarter teaspoon or a half teaspoon at a time and taste, taste, taste until you get a feel for how it works.
Also, if you drop the bottle in the kitchen and it shatters, you'll have to move, so handle carefully.

1 teaspoon per pound of meat is the best hamburger I’ve ever eaten.
