Yeah b/c smokers can smoke where ever they like. There are a ton of bars that are smoke free. In fact a majority of bars I frequent on a regulars basis are smoke free. Henrys, Fat Harry's, Tips, NOLA Tap Room, and Cooters are all smoke free. The only places I go that aren't are Vous and the Bulldog. People should pay attention to what places like Ave Pub are doing. They got it right.

I fail to see why a non-smoker cannot avoid a designated "smoking friendly" club, if given prior notice. Why is it necessary for the anti-smoking nazis to prohibit smoking in EVERY SINGLE PUBLIC RESTAURANT AND BAR?

Even going so far as to prevent the opening of futre Cigar bars and Hookah bars...... WOW!!!

Wrong. I support business owners in just about any other way. In this one particular way, I chose the well being of a group that doesn't want to participate in an activity over the convenience of the group that participates.

I fail to see why a smoker can't smoke outside, then no one has to avoid anything.

You're forgetting that the primary role government officials and entities subscribe to themselves is to do something. Anything. Take action. Otherwise why do they exist? They don't allow themselves to keep their hands off any facet of life, including legislating morality - because in their eyes unless they're writing new laws and regulations they're not doing their jobs. They don't understand that sometimes people want their elected officials just keep government out of their hair .. not find "problems" that need fixin'

I own this bar. I want to smoke inside of it. I cannot because YOU MAY want to enter at some indeterminate time in the future. Preposterous.

Don't open a public business if you don't like it.

Yikes. Next thing you know you'll be throwing around terms like "collective" and "centralized."

which makes more sense

inconveniencing the owner of the property, or the person who wishes to enter the property?

Cantrell’s ordinance would make it illegal to smoke, with a few exceptions, in all enclosed public spaces, private clubs, correctional facilities and school buildings in the city. Smoking also would be prohibited in parks during public events sponsored by the city and outdoors within 25 feet of public property and within 5 feet of commercial buildings.
