Went oil less several years ago and like it. This year I’m deep frying because I want something different. Have fried many in the past just need a refresher. Is it 3.5 minutes per pound at 325? I think that’s what I’ve done before just want to be sure since I paid $50 for the damn oil! TIA

350 deg, 3 minutes per pound, plus 5 minutes, gives me great results...

13lb bird x 3 minutes= 39 minutes +5 = 44 minutes total

If you have an instant read meat thermometer, go conservative on your cook time and check the temp when you think it may be done. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but you should probably pull it when the thickest part of the breast is around 160, and the temp will keep rising to 165 or so after you pull it.

350, 3.5 min per pound…about the same as 3 min per lb plus 5 min

So after watching the Frank Davis video it occurred to me that the 3 gallon jug we all get is not enough oil. Gotta get another gallon. Why can’t Lou Ana just make the damn thing 4 gallons!

Costco has a 4.5 gallon box of pure peanut oil for same price as most store's 3g box.

Costco is the place to get it. Last time I tried Home Depot it was selling a peanut oil blend
