I’m using a hook stand to lower and fry. TIA. For the life of me I can’t remember how I have done it in the past

It’s been a minute, but I’m pretty sure that I put them in butt first. The hanger was sticking out of the neck hole.

Feet down of course. The oil is hotter on the bottom. Dark meat is way more forgiving than white.

Most of the mass is in the breast so that's why you cook it breast down.

Head down, legs up. The bulk of your meat is on the breast end of the turkey.

I've fried hundreds of turkeys over the years and have always done it head down, legs up with great results.

People saying otherwise have no clue what they are talking about.

Instructions that came with the fryer I got said feet first of on the stand, head first of in the basket. So that’s what I did...and it came out smashing

Lol. Imagine being this stupid. Flip one over next time the right way, and try it.

I fry them per the directions of the turkey frier rig I about 10-12 years ago. Feet down. That’s why the stand looks like it does. Works great

Its almost like there is more than one way to cook a dish. Wierd.

If the internal says each part is cooked through, and the meat is juicy, does it really matter?

Mine is head down, but I wouldnt turn my nose up at it either way.

I’d bet it makes zero difference The instructions with my rig says both ways depending if you use the basket or the stand.

Probably like fat cap up or down for a pork butt on da grill lol

Well, I fry a better turkey than you and do it the opposite way.

We used to use metal coat hangers and just drop it in lengthwise. I really don’t think it matters if you cook it right
