Wish this place was here in the early ’90s.

I will be stopping here again in about 3 hours. Gonna get some sweets this time.
Ask them if the meat pies are homemade by them.

They are not. He said they fry them in house though.

As I suspected. They look like the frozen. Locals will know the difference. Travelers will not. I’ll stick with Lasyone’s.
Saw kitchen pics on Yelp. Large boxes of Zatarain’s jambalaya.

Most of the locals here prefer those over the Lasyones meat pies, myself included. I love a lot of things at Lasyones but meat pies aren't one of them.

The gingerbread was fricking legit though.

That's so interesting. I think Lasyone's are far better than those frozen store bought Natchitoches Meat Pie Company meat pies, but to each his or her own.
I know lots of caterers use the regular size and the minis. They are never fried enough for me. Too doughy and not enough meat inside. I find the meat to be dry compared to Lasyone's. I prefer Lasyone's crust as well.
I grew up on Lasyone's so maybe that's another reason why I like them better than any other I've had.

Personally know the owners and they're great people who put a helluva lot of work into making that business a success. They make some fine plate lunches and I occasionally use their catering, which is also always solid. It's French Market Express btw.
Mrs Linda is great. Troy is a little loony
