French Press Issue

I have a Le Creuset French press, and for a while now I’ve had an issue with the grounds not being properly filtered out whenever I pour, leaving grinds and sediment in my coffee.
Is the issue the coarseness of the grounds? Or is there an issue with the press itself? Never had this issue before.

We use one everyday. Too fine of a grind.

Yup. I love French press coffee but you need coarse ground beans.

Like others have said, too fine a grind is causing the issue. I also use a ceramic pour over thingy w/ a filter as non filtered french press coffee is associated with raising your cholesterol. The filter also takes care of any sediment but it can be a PIA as the filter clogs easily.

Could be grind coarseness or your screen way be out of wack letting grinds pass by, easy to remedy.

Was always my problem.
Like Zappa, I went to a pour over system

Your grind is too fine. We use a French almost exclusively and never have sediment issues.
Do you grind your own beans? Grinders are fairly inexpensive and it really makes all the difference.

I used to. Motor on the grinder broke and I have been too lazy to get a new one. Probably need to do that.

You should! This is the one we have, works great.

The other option would be to grind whole beans at the grocery store, although my Star got rid of that feature...your WF or TJ's may still offer it.
