The other day I noticed that one of the worst restaurants I had ever been to (Francois Cafe) on Bluebonnet next to Cadillac Cafe has been renamed "Franco's Grill"

Anyone been?

Are you sure you are just aren't reading the sign wrong? I think it is still Francios'. Not that it makes a difference. It's still not any good and I'm surprised it's still open. That spot is a graveyard for restaurants anyway. Particularly one that isn't very good

Crazy some places just can't make it. That albasha right next to it looks to do just fine. I've never been to any restaurant in that spot, always seems to be something different.

It might be the worst restaurant in the city. I certainly haven't been to any worse than that place in the last 15 years.

There is no way they are turning a profit. I think it's a front for money laundering. Never anyone in there, and everyone I've ever talked to that's been there said it was absolutely awful as well.

Missing the magic of Del Lagos disco night, and the Phil's/Primo's/Ralph&Kacoo's BR Bookmakers & Biz Magnate backroom Poker game.

They better do more than just change the name. They need to change the chef, all cooks, dish washers, wait staff, bartenders, host, management, owners food....everything

ETA: I'll never go back in there if it's same chef or ownership.

Francois had a following out here in Zachary before he left for that spot. We are not quite the food mecca that BR is but he never wanted for customers. Most of the dishes he serves use a common sauce/spice. Francois is the owner and only chef. He is also a soup nazi type. He doesn't care about your specific request for a dish. You take it as is or you take none at all.

It takes a cultural icon of an establishment to be successful with a mindset like that, and even then, it's a questionable way to do business.
