Cazan has it right. I've always used five lbs per person regardless of age, gender or residence. Better to throw a few pounds away than run a few pounds short. Plus someone will always peel the rest and take home especially in somewhere like Houston.

And that is even with corn and potatoes.

this. plus 5 lbs is always a good number, esp early in the season when everyone is trying to fill the offseason void.
