It's getting close to pesto time and I need a new food processor. Anyone have a recommendation?

If you're a buy once, cry once kind of purchaser, go for the MagiMix: LINK
I was on my third in about 10 years and sick of buying replacement bowls for the not-so-cheap but cheaply made KitchenAids, CuisinArts, etc. So I went for the MagiMix, which is the consumer version of the commercial RobotCoupe (the original producers of the food processor). It's very, very sturdy, powerful motor, and light years better than my previous three processors. If you buy the larger sizes (14 or 16 cup), the machine comes with mini bowl attachments so you can use it efficiently for smaller chopping jobs.

Magimix kneads egg pasta dough like a champ.

Very nice review and write up, but holy batcrap batman! $350 for a food processor? How many times year do you use that somebitch? We got a Cuisinart as a wedding present in 2002 and still have it. I've maybe used it a dozen times.

I led with the "buy once, cry once". I use it 2-3 times a month. Would rather have quality equipment that works well than janky kitchen gear. Let's not get into mixers....I think my first car cost less than my Ankarsrum.

ETA: re: Magimix, it's less money than many women pay for a handbag or an outfit. I'd always rather have kitchen gear than fashion.

Buy a cheap Walmart one for 20 bucks or go all out for a
Robot Coupe
There is no better one

I've got a Cuisinart Duet. It's a food processor and blender. You just change the bowls. Plenty of capacity for my wife and I and it only takes up 1 spot on the counter top.

I have a Kitchen Aid 8 cup that we paid right at $80 for about 10 years ago. It's been great. I use it to make hummus, shrimp dip, shrimp Boulettes. Probably use it about once a month. Pretty heavy but very quiet.

MagiMix - company that Cuisinart had make the first consumer grade food processor for them. Excellent in all ways. Can occasionally find them on sale at Wiliams-Sonoma.

I have the Magimix too and it’s a bit expensive but mine is about 12-15 years old and does everything I need and we use it several times a week.
