Took the old man to flemmings for brunch today. Got to say I thought it was little off. We both ordered off the Pre fixed menu which could have been the issue. But I thought the lobster bisque was really flat and the prime rib was one of the more disappointing pieces of meat I've gotten there.

It did come with dessert, which we all agreed was the best part. I got turtle chocolate pie, dad got bread pudding and the GF got cream brûlée. All three were great. I don't usually get dessert at Flemmings either.

For a nice restaurant, I really don't think it's very good. Houston's and Carrabas are better. Shoulda gone to Ruth's man

The Ruth's near me is in the hood. Though it is moving to the Galleria.

For those days where you have a brunch and a huge number of people coming in, it's not going to be up to par. They simply can't do their normal stuff at that volume and they're looking to make a big profit off of people that are not their regulars. The quality will not be what it usually is.

As for the happy hour, I can see where that would be underwhelming because the very thing they specialize in (steak) isn't available.

However, they do have the carpaccio for happy hour.

This and going to eat brunch at a place that only opens for dinner except on 2-3 days a year.

IMHO Fleming's is the best steak house in Baton Rouge

ETA: Fleming's only has one M by the way

The Ruth's on Richmond is in the hood? It's fairly close to the new one being built.

One mile apart but it might as well be 1000.
