Fish Fry Amont

I normally fry fish for just the wife and I but I have family coming into town in a few weeks and need to feed about 25 people. How many bags of fillets do I need to cover that? I think I may have to go fishing a few more times before they come

What kind of fish?
Catfish - 2 per person
Trout - 3-4 per person
Reds - 2 per person
Catfish - 2 per person

Half a pound per person should be plenty especially if you have other things with it. Hard to tell you how many bags of fillets because fish vary in size.

I currently have Reds and those are the easiest to go catch right now.

assume 2-3 pieces of fish per person if you have sides (fries, potato salad, etc.). Depends on the males/females in the group and how much they eat.

If you don't want to go fishing, Guidry's Catfish sells flash frozen catfish and it is a very good product.

15 pounds of filets should feed them very well assuming there's sides. You can go catch that or buy a 15# box of catfish.

I've cooked for more family get togethers than I can count and what you say is pretty much true, but don't forget about teenage boys. Those frickers can each often eat more than any 3 adults if they like what is being served.

good point. As with the kids, I've seen some "husky" adults eat 4-5 filets without seeming to take a breath.
