It is a great beer if you are drinking for quantity. It is my go-to beer on vacations out of state when I am looking for many a beer.

it's as cheap or cheaper than bud, miller, and coors, and tastes just as good or better.

it's not to be compared with microbrews

I actually remember when Coors came to Texas. A drinking frenzy!
my dad told me he and his buddies drove to oklahoma primarily to pick up some coors.

This. I'd you're choosing between miller bud or coors, this is the best alternative. Yeungling is the shite. I buy cases of it all the time when I go to Florida and bring it back with me.

I felt the same way the one time I visited Texas from Florida and tried Lone Star beer.

Lone Star is an adjunct lager. Does Yuengling even use adjuncts?

He was comparing experiences, not trying to say Lone Star is like Yingyang.

Seems like the people who claim it's so great live in an area where it's not available.

It's not awful, but far from good.

I don't get why people make a big deal about this. I guess since they don't sell it in La. I like yuengling, but only as a cheap beer. It is a solid choice instead of the other predominant American lagers on the market. It isn't as good as most craft or "premium" beers.

IN short, it is an acceptable substitute/upgrade if you want a cheap beer with more flavor than bud, miller, coors, etc.

Yuengling light is the easiest drinking beer Ive ever had.
One of my favorites.
Smooth and has good taste.

I was just coming to say this. I like it compared to other cheap beers. I wouldn't compare it to Brooklyn. Different class.

It was my go to beer for years... I've since ventured out into other lagers like Stella, Heineken, Landshark and as much as I'll probably get reamed for saying this, Bud heavy isn't all that bad... if you're into cold & domestic... especially for the price.
