Costco had the Instant Pot on sale for $65 so I decided to give it a try. People said you could cook beans really fast without soaking so I gave it a try.
Started it out on the sautés setting and dropped the trinity in and added a little garlic then dropped in some smoked ham hock, chicken stock, dry black eyed peas, and green beans. Cooked for 18 minutes on pressure cook. Turned out very good considering I did not have to soak over night and cook all day. Crazy the black-eyed peas were ready before the cornbread.
I would recommend one.

It's been a game changer for us. I've been trying to use it often because it's quick and the clean up is SO easy.

I cooked a bomb-arse chili in mine today. Took about 30 minutes to prep/cook...once I released the pressure, I put it on the slow cooker setting while I made an airport/dinner trip, came home about 5 hours later and it's the best chili I've ever made.

I also have a beef & broccoli recipe that is tender and amazing. I love my Instant Pot.

The Instant Pot app is helpful.....if you’re a good cook and don’t really need recipes, the IP app recipes are good for general guidelines on cooking times and amounts of liquid needed.

I’ve had one for over a year and literally have yet to use it. If I’m in that big of a hurry, I’m just going to go out.

I got one for Christmas last year. We may have used it once I know I haven't.

It's a tool, just like any other tool in your kitchen. If you're time pressed, it's a very useful thing to have.

Also, I made a cheesecake in it---easily the best-textured cheesecake I've ever made. I'm old, so that's a whole bunch of cheesecakes.

Been thinking about getting the same one from Costco. Pretty easy to figure out?

Very easy to figure out... just have to dial in the cooking times.

Chicken thighs are really easy, tender, flavorful... saute, then 13 minutes and 5 minute release.

Beef roasts have given me the most trouble... sometimes they come out perfect, other times overcooked. Even on an evenly thick cut.

This recipe is too die for. Pretty much make it with all the beef roasts I have in the freezer.
My family craves it like they breathe air.

Wife bought me one for christmas. I (kindly) asked her to return it. I'm not one for kitchen gimmicks or seen on TV gizmos.

Pressure cookers have been around for a long, long time. The Instant Pot is just more technologically advanced, with less danger of kitchen explosions.

Ya a pressure cooker is a real gimmick.
