You might be able to get away with it on the free side - where people take their dogs and paddle boards and whatnot. L Boog or Henry’s dad might know better as former locals.

Next BD is a Bailing Room. “West Coast” - slightly more bitter, still real good:

In the fenced in swim area that you have to pay to get in to, yes. But there are areas just outside the fence that are not restricted other than by local laws....so no alcohol. One area is a nice grassy hillside that looks over the swim area. Here is an article describing Barton Springs and they talk about the creek outside the fence towards the end of the article.

they arent strict usually. only on glass containers

but it is technically against city ordinance to consume in a park - per title 8 of the austin municipal code

quote:

ALCOHOL PERMITS IN THE PARKS
Title 8 of the Austin Municipal Code clarifies that a person may not knowingly sell, possess, or consume an alcoholic beverage in a public recreation area, unless provided for in code. (code 8-3-1)

Alcoholic beverages are permitted at the following locations on parkland:

(1) in the spectating area of Krieg and Havins Softball Complexes

(2) at a golf course

(3) in a campsite, which is reserved for a specific person or event;

(4) when an approval authorizes the possession, sale, or consumption by a person or for an event at a public recreation area.

An approval includes a permit, contract or other agreement.

FBD is a Oceans Hazer at the Beaverton Food Cart Pod. Best fish and chips this side of the pond at the Frying Scotsman.

I got the cod. No haggis for me.

You told me you were looking for salmon, not fish and chips, or I would have told you about it.

Frying Scotsman is legit. Got those real chunky English
style chips, too.

ETA: The food cart pod has a taproom, too, so you don't go thirsty.
