have you never tasted a rodeo clown?

well, its a double IPA and has plenty of hops but its not a hop bomb per say...they do a great job with balancing the malts on the front end but a nice little hop bite (like the bull getting in that final kick to your nutsack) on the back end...honestly its one of the smoother drinking DIPAs that I have had and I make it a staple in my fridge. we have to get you some to try.

Bottomland, you ever take apart your faucets? I was looking for your thread about taking apart your kegerator after pouring black chunks after running PBW from the new/used kegerator I got.

Yeah, taken them apart a few times. That black gunk can get hard to clean out depending on what type of faucets you have. The Perlick faucets are where it's at. I upgraded one of my four taps to a perlick a few months back and it's been great. So much easier to clean and produces a better pour than those cheap faucets. I never knew what I was missing until I upgraded. I still need to get the other three switched over, but I only seem to remember when the beer budget is tight.

Trying to dig up the picture.

Found it.

I meant is the Icon Blue hoppy like the SSR is.

I've had Karbach Rodeo Clown before when I visited Houston last summer. Enjoyed it. I like most of their beers.

I'm in. Where are you staying? The Taproom has a great Texas selection and a $3 pint happy hour - all Texas brews.

I had some a couple weeks ago and I was the only one in the group that didn't think it was awesome. It was good, don't get me wrong, but I just remember it being too grassy for my tastes. The hops were definitely there and the bitterness was at a good level, but the aroma and taste were a flat grass.

sorry bro, misinterpreted. its got plenty enough hops for me...honestly CDA is not in my fave styles...I would say its a sytle I like at early fall or late winter and I haven't tasted a ton of them...but...ICON BLUE was delicious. I has SSR and Icon about two days apart so I think I was able to make a pretty fair assessment and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the Icon was...especially in light of how meh Icon red was.

Seems like I need to send some Icon Blue to North Korea for the dictator to distribute to his valiant soldiers

Thanks for the input. Do you know if it's to be found anywhere in Nola? Would love to do a side by side comparison. :coco2:

Based upon the opinions of you and Zappas, I would like to try it. I figure it will be in BR at some point, but I have not seen it yet.

I saw some 4-pack Icons at Elio's a few weeks back. Can't remember if it was blue or red. I think it was the blues, but don't quote me on that.

There it is. Yeah. I don't have Perlicks yet but I can see that they are a necessity really. Those things were kind of gross. I basically boiled them after taking them apart in PBW. That seemed to do the trick along with some running cotton rag through all of the holes.

Hard to believe he let them get that bad.

Not sure where I'm staying yet but I think our conference is in Las Colinas. I think my best bet would be to fly out early on the 28th and get there in the afternoon and then we could hook up somewhere that I could get a fairly reasonable cab ride to that has great beer...looks like we have at least a 3 some at this point, me you and zappa...we need to exchange emails...Kim has mine if he has yours maybe he can make the connections
