It's a really interesting idea that has crossed my mind before, but I imagine it takes a serious amount of resources, both monetary and experience, to reach the goal of competing with the big dogs.
In theory, it should continue level the playing field between BMC and craft. The question is whether it will just establish a middle tier of mediocre national "craft" brands like Abita or if it will actually help the entire "craft" beer movement.

I'll reserve judgement till I learn more...but it may not be a bad thing for breweries to have access to the scale and leverage of being a part of buying group and scalable back office services. Lots of industries have groups like this.
