SBD

My second time trying this after I bought it yesterday from Rouse’s in the CBD.

I wasn’t entirely sure what I thought about the first bottle. I found the alcohol character extremely forward like a strong grain alcohol smell and taste. It’s obviously a 9% Beer, but I thought it was still a bit intense. All of the great citrus character we’ve come to expect from any Parish NEIPA, but I wasn’t thrilled the way I expected to be.

Don’t know if it’s the extra time in the fridge, but man, today this sucker has really blossomed! Intense ripe mango layered with light pineapple and fresh satsuma/clementine. It has all the citrus and tropical quality you could ask for and little to none of the excessive booziness I experienced yesterday.

Good shite.

FBD is a new release of one of my favorite beers of the past year. Now it's available year round. My only annoyance is that it's not triple hopped at 7%. I wish there was a definition of what triple and doubles are. Still a damn fine beer to have available at all times

FBD- the yellow streak is my raincoat. Lighting a fire in the rain is a lot of fun

This is a beer perfect for such conditions. Graham crackers, marshmallows, fudge, and hints of dark fruit dance on the palate, evoking memories of time spent outdoors on a cool fall night. The viscous liquid coats the tongue in a powerful, but not overwhelming manner.

FBD is a Mini Boss. Lighting the pit for some chicken legs.

Making my way east tomorrow for the holidays. Gonna make a pit stop at Parish tomorrow to see what’s hanging around.
