we did a decent job of mixing it up and it wasn't an overly hoppy lineup. More stouts than expected.

Yes, it was a good mix.

I almost told you something on your first post about that list but I held off. Must have been feeling sympathetic for a second.

Could you compare the Rayon Vert to the palate wrecker? Is it a version of their West Coast IPA?

No, Rayon Vert is a Brettanomyces fermented (nicely hopped)BPA. So there is some hops in there but it's mainly about the Brett with this one. It's light it's refreshing and it's very interesting. I'd call it more of a palate cleanser than a palate wrecker.

Thanks! I will be down in SD soon and will mos def be going to their brewery. My boy down there knows a lot of the brewers at the different breweries down there so I am stoked!

Thanks suspense.

The Rayon Vert was nicely hopped & balanced beautifully. The brett definately added a unique complexity that was so addictive, not only the nose but the taste and finish. I was really wanting to try this one, especially since I love everything I've tried by Green Flash. I just couldn't pull the trigger on it last week, but now I can't get enough! I could only imagine how awesome this would be on tap!

Oh yeah... It's nice. Another good thing about it is that it's bottle conditioned so it should age well. I think I'll buy a 4 pack as soon as it comes out and stick it in a warm spot for a year or so.

They gave us this poster too while we were there.

Nice. I put it in the bottom of my closet and hope to forget about it for a while. I should be by whole foods this weekend and will hopefully pick up another one to drink while I am down in SD with friends.

Well, I doubt it would be the same beer on tap since the Bretta yeast is added at bottling. Same reason Trappist ales aren't provided on tap. The bottle conditioning is a big part of the taste.

But I've seen Rayon Vert on the shelves. I guess I'm gonna have to give it a try.
