Don’t forget Blues Fest in BR today. Pho 20 Fest at Gnarley Barley next weekend.

F&SBD are my Homebrew Blonde Stout against White Stouts Can’t Jump by Abomination. Blind tasting I was able to pick mine out and honestly preferred it to the Abomination one even with the coffee character having mellowed our after a few weeks in the keg. The nose on mine is still roasty, chocolatey coffee compared to virtually nothing on the commercial one. Taste pretty much follows the nose. Mine has a clear roasted coffee flavor with a clean, slightly honey yeast character. The WSCJ was very muted with a sweetness on the backend I would guess is the lactose. Makes me very proud of a beer I’ve not really gotten much feedback on.
Mine is just cacao nibs in the fermenter and whole beans of French Truck’s Big Chief in the fermenter the last 10 hours before I kegged. No lactose or vanilla in mine. Fermented using Omega’s Hothead Kveik which I highly recommend for anyone wanting clean yeast profile. I’ve heard of 1 week pilsners that are almost indiscernible from the actual lager.

Absolutely. It seems like most of our local guys have had a canning issue at some point. But, I feel the rush for selling freshies results in a lack of quality control sometimes.
My slight distain is bc great raft told me they would make it right for the grace and grit canning issue last year, but they never did. I still drink their beer though bc I know how costly and time consuming it would be to satisfy everyone’s email complaints.
How is TR making it right for you?
