5BD was a Java the Hop, a coffee IPA. First time trying any beer of this style. Very strange. Light in color, yet had intense coffee nose and taste. We were not sure what to think of this one.

Sounds gross, bitter on bitter

Had a hop rising earlier but I am now just living through this thread

My first IPA.

Wish me luck.

ETA: oh that's harsh.

But seriously, IPAs are an acquired taste. I didn't love them initially. I used to hate them. All it takes is that first one, though, the one that strikes your fancy, and suddenly you'll start branching out from there. Before you know it you'll try a beer that a few months before you didn't like and you'll suddenly love it or dislike it because it's not hoppy enough. It's weird.

More research needed?

There is that second can to share with others this weekend, but I am not a fan so far. Just so strange. It seemed like a blonde or a pale with lots of coffee. I did not get much hops at all.

Zappas, it was the strangest thing. Poured like a pale ale, yet smelled and tasted like coffee beans.

Had the same first 4 as KJ, courtesy of rutiger, courtesy of Jax. All in the same order as well, though unintentionally. Crux was the best, Hop Venom probably is great fresh. The Dankee Doodle lived up to its name.

5BD was a Tart of Darkness while making a yeast starter. Hoping to brew Saturday afternoon, depending on work. If not, it'll be Sunday.

My contribution after my last night shift for a few months:

Last one I like this porter, it's solid. Their IPA is pretty bad, though.

And my dinner:

Yes I know I have shitty dinner plates and stuff. Bachelor, no fricks given.

I don't care for their finestkind ipa at all. Reminds me of a hoppier Voodoo Bengal. Blech.

My tastes definitely are very different from a lot of people though. This isn't the first time you lot have casty'd me

Ah well figure it out bbrah. Btw I watched 'look at my horse' again the other day and lol'd when I realized that's where your avatar is from
