They might be my favorite brewery and I haven't had one beer by them. A friend and I were talking about going to the Iowa game just to do cigar city.
The Tampa Bay/South Florida beer scene is exploding right now. When discussing the Southeast most want to talk about North Carolina but that is changing and quickly. CCB is really just the tip of the iceberg in terms of excellent craft breweries in the area. In Tampa you have CCB who is the behemoth but also 7venth Sun and Saint Somewhere doing some great Saisons. You have Rapp doing the German brews and Cycle who I'd argue does better barrel aged beers than CCB. Not to mention Dunedin, 3 Sisters, Green Bench, Big Storm, Coppertail, Angry Chair and Barley Mow.
In South FL you have Funky Buddha doing their thing and Wakefield about to drop some serious sours on the area. Add in Due South and Tequesta and you have one hell of a lineup.
The trip is definitely worth it for any beer fan. You can kill 5 days easily and only touch a few of the great breweries here in FL.

5BD was a Java the Hop, a coffee IPA. First time trying any beer of this style. Very strange. Light in color, yet had intense coffee nose and taste. We were not sure what to think of this one.

The Espresso RIS I had gotten months back, just been in the cellar. I hear you can still find a few of the Espresso and Original around though. 2014 should be out in a few months if not.

3BD
Labeled an imperial stout but it has a massive dry hop finish that really works. I dig it.
Also, watching The Iceman. Solid little movie. I love Michael Shannon.

Not really. Where were the hops hiding? Rest of the beers were tasty, the crux beer won though.

Except its not a suck. It just sort of defies conventional wisdom...
If you've ever had one of those clear sodas that taste like root beer, you'll know what I mean...
