Arguably the best beer bar in the world. I was interrogated by the owner at the front door and refused entry because I said I wanted to drink a beer. I continued to talk to him and he told me to go away, there were plenty of other bars around here to drink beer. I finally said I wanted to TASTE some beer and he said ok and let me in. Crazy old man!

So we were told where to sit and did as instructed. There was another couple at the end of the table and after we ordered, the guy at the table commented, "I didn't think you were going to get in". I asked him if he was interrogated and he said he had researched the place and found where you have to say you want to "taste beer" and if you say you want to drink beer, bye bye. Lucky for me I can talk my way into any place, ha.

SBD 2011 Westy 12 compliments of my new swedish friend who has lived in Los Angeles for 30 years.

Easy! Nothing like a few triples on a Saturday afternoon.

FBD is at the new spot that opened two blocks from my house. Pretty solid brews

FBD: Homebrew Italian Pilsner

Been wanting to get a good Czech pour. Changed out the tap faucet from standard to a stout faucet. Close enough and cheaper than a $350 Lukr side pull tap faucet.

NBD Dok Suskewiest saison. Names after the chirping sound a Finch (bird) makes. They have Finch contests in Belgium where the winner is the bird that makes the most chirps in a given time. Drinking beer, being educated= winning

All I got is a DIPA called Juicier Bomb. Pretty sure it's brewed in a foreign country.

Drinking beer before putting the garlic whipped cream on my garlic key lime pie.

Side note: garlic key lime pie doesn't taste nearly as good as it sounds...

NBD Sint Amatus de Suisse Quad.
The owner of this fine establishment is the opposite of the cranky old fart at Kulminator. He is very friendly, has given us background on the beers and when I asked him for a quad suggestion, he asked a series of questions to acertain my desired range of caramel and bitter qualities. Highly recommend Dr. Beer if you are in Antwerp. And I highly recommend Antwerp as a city. Very beautiful, really good food, friendly people and cheap excellent beers.
