None of them were bad but if it never makes it to LA I wouldn't mind. And when I go out of town I happily pass it up for better offerings.

I gotcha. I normally always have Little Sumpin in the house, its the wife's favorite beer.

Since it sounds like you are gonna have to rent an 18 wheeler to get the beer here, how about some steelhead or mad river stuff. I miss my favorite humboldt brewery.

TBD is a Flying Dog Raging Bitch.

You can either ease into IPA's or jump in with both feet.

Ease in with Sierra Nevada pale ale then move on to some single IPA's. Hopitoulas is a good one. Stone IPA, Bear Republic Racer 5, and Harpoon IPA would be good examples.

To jump right in, drink that Endeavor.

Whatever you do, stay the hell away from Abita Jockamo.

Finally got around to my first official beer. Highland brewing gaelic ale. On draft.

Yeah, Imma agree with rutiger here. Rogue is the definition of average for the most part.

They have a few offerings that I think are above average. More than I can say for Lagunitas.

I understand the hate though b/c we're in a hophead's world these days and Rogue doesn't have many (any) great examples of ipas, hence rutiger's issues with the brewery.

That was my favorite beer by them, which caught me off guard because they get rave reviews for their IPA's. I just wasn't a fan.

FBD Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout at the Great Divide Taproom. This is a dense and intense slug of beer sustenance.

Get the Rumble oak aged IPA while there.

Or better yet, walk 4 blocks to Falling Rock for Pliny on tap and a shite ton of other wonderful beer.

What a fine day! I've had that beer once-at Boo's- and it was wonderful.

You sure?

No shite. A truly bad beer and not even remotely representative of an IPA.

SBD is a Southern Tier Iniquity Imperial Black Ale, courtesy of ut. Very nice.

That is my exact plan for tonight. Falling Rock has Blind Pig IPA on tap top. We're on the bicycles, no walking for me.

Im the complete opposite, and it has nothing to do with hops. Ive never had a rogue beer thats above average, and i thought most were below.

SN Pale Ale is pretty hoppy for a pale ale. Maybe you should jump on that Endeavor like others have "suggested".

You are not going to believe the complex nose.

Hey you beer drinking people, is Avenue Pub the best place in NOLA to take beer drinker friends? We are gonna be in town for RDR and I want to take them somewhere for lunch on that Friday. Avenue Pub got good food?
