what would you suggest to ease into IPAs?

Certainly not a Double IPA (Imperial IPA). Bell's Two Hearted Ale would be perfect, but you can't get it here--I'll bring lots back from FL next week though. I suggest you try Stone's IPA or Bear Republic's Racer 5.

NOLA Hopitoulas
Sierra Nevada Torpedo
Or a decent Mikkeller (price may sway you away from this one. Id suggest Mikkeller Invasion or a Single Hop like citra or cascade. Kim would suggest their hop burn low)

If you really need to ease in, go with a good pale ale like sierra nevada's. It's pretty hoppy.

Honestly though, Hopitoulas is one of the best IPAs that I've found which I love but is still acceptable to give to future IPA lovers.

None. Average brewery that alot of people here love. I havent figured out why.

Hop Stupid will prob get the most rec's though. Their imperial red is good, but inferior to oskar blue's example.

eta: I'd like to try little sumpin wild

Yeah, Imma agree with rutiger here. Rogue is the definition of average for the most part.

How many Launitas beers have you tried to come up with this assertion??

I almost said this, but he wants to ease into IPAs. I know some people learn to love hops, but most people I know are either hop heads or they don't like hops. I was one of those people that loved hops from the get go and hoppy beers were not an acquired taste.

I think Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is good gateway beer to IPAs. I know it was definitely one of mine. I can't believe I used to think that it was a "real hoppy" beer.

FBD: SN/RR Brux. Pretty good beer. I enjoyed it a lot. It's definitely not as good as I remember RR Supplication being. I'm going to age one and see how it tastes in a few years.

SBD: Oskar Blues Dale's Pale Ale. A leftover from the beach. First time trying in a glass. Very nice pale ale.

WTF

None of them were bad but if it never makes it to LA I wouldn't mind. And when I go out of town I happily pass it up for better offerings.

What a fine day! I've had that beer once-at Boo's- and it was wonderful.

FBD Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout at the Great Divide Taproom. This is a dense and intense slug of beer sustenance.
