2BD after having 2 Sazeracs and 2 Old Fashioneds at Oxalis (fyi, they make a killer sazerac but the person pouring the Old Fashioneds tonight was heavy-handed on the bitters -- but generally they are really solid too, and at $5 it's not a bad deal)

This is why I bitch about enjoy by dates -- this is dated enjoy by March '16 and it's malty as hell. Is that the base beer? Or is it old? How am I supposed to know? The color leads me to believe it has a robust malt bill with caramel malts, but it's hard to definitively say. Commotion is a similar color without this much malt. This is pretty meh. Oh well. It was an extra on a trade.

Sparky -- Dragonsaddle was tropical and dank while being bitter as hell (all in a good way), but there's a huge malt bill there to balance it out. If it's not super fresh it's going to be a turd. But Triple IPA = a shite ton of malt too, so you kinda expect that.

3&LBD I've never had before -- is this just a shitty beer? I've never had it before but I'm amazed why anyone would buy this over Zombie Dust. This would shelfturd in NOLA.

I've had it a few times and it is not shitty, but not nearly as good as Zombie Dust IMO.

I think this one must not be fresh. It's terrible. I would easily pound Hopitoulas over this, and I hate Hopitoulas.

It must be way old yeezy. It is a good beer and is several notches above Hopitoulas when reasonably fresh. I freaking hate the Eagles and Hopitoulas too man.

Got a world of trouble on my mind.

I hate the fricking Eagles, but I remember their lyrics. Does this mean they win?

I guess so. I am a casualty of the old FM radio days of the 70s. I never bought an Eagles album but I suffered exposure to their lyrics and I remember them. I wore out Exile on Main St., Sticky Fingers, Rough Mix, Rock and Roll Animal, Loaded, Every Picture Tells a Story, Stranded, Siren, etc. so I hope that redeems me in the eyes of the Rock and Roll Gods.

I'm not sure. But at the very least, it means you're old...

Oh yeah. I ended up staying up later and having an extra beer than usual for a Thursday, but I am psyched about some family health news I got earlier. Shutting it down now. I am looking forward to a hoppy weekend.
