I was craving pancakes so I had some for supper. I've always used Norris Bros Blue Ribbon Cane Syrup. I've tried Steens but didn't care too much for it. Any others out there that I may not know about?

I use an unlabeled syrup that is made locally. Bottled in anything from a Jack bottle to a Mason jar. Some great undiluted syrup. No stretching it out with Kayo.

Best store bought, at least in this part of the country is Winters. Son in law of my dads secretary, before he retired, makes it. He doesn't stretch it out too much.

We're a Steens family over here.

Use it for cooking such as salad dressings and seared tuna reductions.

Steens wasn't bad, but growing up on Norris Brothers makes it hard to swap.

This is the local syrup on tonights French toast and deer sausage.

Notice how black it is. No stretching it out for sure. This is about as pure cane as you can get.

Steens and a sprinkle of cinnamon mixed into butter, put that on your yeast rolls.

If you have a Co-Op in your town, you might give them a call. Our Co-Op sells locally produced cane syrup.

I didn't know other syrups even existed until I was in my teens.

My grandpaw was a sugar cane farmer and has always made his own cane syrup. He still does it every winter with the sugar cane that my family grows. His syrup has always been my favorite and blows anything you can buy at the store out of the water. Everyone in my family has been telling him to start selling it because it would sell like hot cakes. I might be able to send out some samples, if anyone wants.
