How do you look in the restaurant when you start freaking out? Is it like a seizure?

You shouldn't dine with me and my friends and family because we taste each others dishes often. Usually, we put bites on each others bread plates, but I've been known to "fork it" on the plates next to mine. Someone usually cuts a bite on their plate and asks me to take the bite with my utensil.

I'd mix my stuff all together to keep it safe from you.

You'd be 100% safe.

I don't "fork it" unless I'm invited to do so. I would decline your offer.

Cutting the entire entree into bite size pieces before eating a bite.

The sound of the knife and fork scrapping/grinding each other while eating

Ordering a frozen margarita with top shelf liquor

Blantons and Coke

Guest ordering a gin fizz when the bar is 4 deep

Why do you care?

I understand this, but I can't recall the last time I've ever heard it at a table at home or in restaurant.

I have no idea how to make a gin fizz. I've never made one nor have I researched it. I love them, though. Are your guests supposed to know how to make a specialty drink? What if they're in a dining room and can't see your bar?

Blow your nose at the table and you'll find out.

I can't. I can't eat with him. He won't share food from his plate, so that's a no go.

I wonder if some people freak out if someone sneezes at the table. Must one leave to wipe thy nose while holding the napkin up to thy nose? I'm starting to freak out over the freak outs.

You do have a point there.

Restaurants that add the salad dressing to the salad rather than placing it on the side.

One of the surest ways to know that you are in a first-class restaurant is that they will prepare a salad as completely as any other dish. When it hits the table, it is ready to eat. For a kitchen to do less than that is second-class service.

To complain that the kitchen fully prepares your salad is like complaining that the kitchen cooks your steak (instead of letting you do the work of cooking it yourself).

There are varying levels of restaurants from fine dining to mid level casual to casual. Most of the fine dining restaurants will fully prepare the salad, but those salads are generally not your basic green salad with an offering of Italian, blue cheese, thousand island and ranch. The lower level restaurants (and I don't mean lower level as in bad restaurants) will either bring it on the side or plop it on the top with you doing the tossing. No big deal either way for me, though tossing a salad in a small bowl or on a flat salad plate can get a little messy. I don't usually end up eating the generic dinner salads unless there's a homemade house dressing that I like.
