Germantown Commissary, Cozy Corner, Central. BBQ Shop.

Depends on where they are staying.

Whatever they do.... NOT Corky's.

Rendezvous wouldn't be bad.

We go to Rendevous and Central. I'll admit Rendevous isn't what it used to be. The ribs were meh last time I went, but like the atmosphere.

Get the bbq nachos at Central BBQ.

Central has a really good smoked turkey, and Cozy Corner has rib tips, game hens and BBQ bologna.

I got a lot recomendations for Central when I asked around, plus the Yelp reviews are pretty strong, However the food, at least what we ordered, was just OK. The turkey was good, but the brisket was flavorless and the pulled pork tasted more like roast pork than smoked pork. I didnt try the ribs or any other meats. The beans were really good though.

Yeah...Memphis is not a brisket town at all. Ribs, pulled pork (nachos or sandwich) and sausage cheese plate is the way to go in Memphis.

Central, cozy Corner and BBQ shop are the best.

You could also try payne's or tom's if you're looking for off the beaten other spots.

Rendezvous ribs are very very hit and miss (assembly line ribs). As someone else said, do not go to Corkys. Also, I'm not a fan of commissary altho it gets a lot of love on this board.

The smoked half chicken and the dry rub wings are the best things at Central. Either of those with the vinegar or the mustard sauce are legit, everything else there is pretty meh (ribs aren't bad)

I always ask people what they want before sending them to BBQ spots in Memphis. I send people to Central if they want chicken

BBQ probably best if you have only one shot. Cozy Corner: Cornish Game hen, ribs (medium hot!). Pies. Don't be suckered in by the Tops sign on Union. Bad Q, but GREAT cheeseburgers!
