Kill yourself.

Earthquake, closest one to me is Longview. Might have to make the drive soon.

E. Preston in Shreveport- none have ever come close, but that may or may not be because I grew up a block away and it was between us and the Elk's pool. Many a summer night was spent at the Elk's with a $5.99 pepperoni party pizza.

Short story, and my only knock against Johnny's. Parents were out, we ordered a 14" pepperoni to be delivered 1 block. Pizza was $5.99, delivery ticket was $11. $5 to drive a block??? Never got it delivered again. I went and visited the buffet for lunch today though. Rest in peace, Johnny Huntsman. When my kids get frozen or deli pizzas, I still cut it in half, then in strips, like God intended

Not surprising. My aunt said she went there shortly after it opened and ordered a Sweep The Kitchen and said it just did not taste like the ones in Monroe and Ruston we grew up eating. Matter of fact she had gotten one back home a few months prior to that and said they tasted good as always in Ruston. When I was a kid in the 70's they had one basically right on campus at Louisiana Tech and it was by far my favorite. The place was a dump but that oven they used just cooked those pizzas so much better. I travel to Baton Rouge and Covington for work and I'll go get a pizza at Johnny's sometimes and they are okay. But for whatever reason the ones in North LA taste better. I've often wondered if the older locations that they started out of have a better oven. The oven in Covington looks a lot different than the oven in Ruston.

Go get your fix by all means. I eat one there at the restaurant and now they offer a take home pizza that they personally make for you and you bake them yourself. So I buy one of those to since I have no Johnny's here in Mobile. I brought one home 3 hours away 2 weeks ago and cooked it on the egg and man it was good. Funny how I was sick of that pizza when I was young and once I moved away I would get to craving it something fierce. I haven't lived close to a Johnny's in 25 years but I still to this day get a craving for one.
