Urban South came out on twitter and categorically denied that they bought Ms Mae's. said it was fake news, it is 100% not true, and don't believe Reddit.

That is the only part I heard from reddit. Mae's went up for sale early in the pandemic, supposedly it wasn't exactly pandemic related and the owner wanted to get out of the business.

She definitely died after 2008 because just the other day I found a picture I took with her at the Rouse's on Tchoup (she was buying a bunch of lemons and limes).

Yeah, you’re correct. The majority owner was wanting to “get out” long before the pandemic.
