Yea, me and Wise are actually the owners.

So why is Dragos so successful ? For the most part we all agree the menu sucks outside of this one dish that can be easily duplicated in ones backyard and is better at least 10 other restaurants in town.

And the ones you make aren't as good as theirs. Congrats on still not getting the point.
Not as good as Drago's.
Haven't had the other two. So so far you've yet to name one. Congrats.
and this is why we can't have a good discussion with LNCHBOX posting. His opinion is always #1, and he refuses to see things from others point-of-view.
the purpose of the post was to describe places that have similarly tasting Chargrilled Oysters but NOT necessarily better. The dish is not some culinary work of art that can't be replicated…I would almost be on your side if Drago's had a famous dish that was difficult to make, but in this case, it's simple and plenty of places in NOLA do it just fine to not warrant a special trip to Drago's.

Take this bullshite elsewhere. Drago's is generally considered one of if not the best at that particular dish.
I'm not the one with the contrarian opinion here, but thanks for trying to make it about me.

And I disagree with this because I've yet to find a place that makes them better. Why get one that is just decent when you can get the best?

Why is Mother's successful? Why is Rum House successful? Some places just have IT and when I say IT, I'm not talking about the food they put on the table. Word of mouth, tourists buzz, atmosphere, reputation, etc.

I find it harder to have a conversation with someone who doesn't understand what his words mean.

I disagree.
And like I said earlier when a place like Casamentos has to add the dish to their menu it says a lot about what Dragos has done. Casamentos is my favorite oyster place in the world however I don't order the chargrilled there b/c they are not as good as Dragos.

What would your opinion be if Drago's started in Shreveport?
Posted on 6/9/14 at 11:45 am to deNYEd
5 pages over a dish that can be prepared at home in little time and be as good as any place in the city.
What gives?
What gives?

If it is so easy why don't you open up a restaurant, mon? It seems like Drago's does pretty well.

I'm not saying they don't do it well, Mon.
And the dish is very easy to make.

I would taste yours.
Edit: but it's a different dish

In your opinion. In my opinion, you're the reason we can't have this conversation. You seem hell bent on just not accepting that Drago's offers possibly the best charbroiled oyster in this city. Why can't you just accept that?
Posted on 6/9/14 at 11:50 am to TigerHam85
I know you are a chef but those looked severely undercooked
Posted on 6/9/14 at 11:51 am to TigerWise
