Someone suggested it for dinner, deciding between Doris and chophouse. Which one is better?

Sitting at the bar as we speak at Doris.

It's my hangout. For dinner the two places are very close. If you really want to ball it, doris.

Chophouse has the piano and doris has a hip, cool vibe...two different feels.

I think the steaks are better at chophouse....everything else I give to doris

Birthday dinner, so I plan on doing it big but I don't drink so that will keep prices down. If chophouse has better steaks I'll probably go with that

Love the classified cut at Doris. Their sweetbreads are great and the tuna tartare is my single favorite dish in the city. Chophouse is good but it's a traditional steakhouse.

What is the classified cut? My go to is usually the ribeye

The classified cut is the spinalis muscle. It's essentially the cap of the ribeye; the most tender piece.

I enjoyed Doris as we got the meatery board. We got 6 or 7 cuts but the filet was the best and I'm not a filet guy.

Just a slight hijack, Costco says a prime spinalist and occasionally have it on sale for like $19 a pound. Fantastic cut of meat.
