Don't know if that new McAlister's on Burbank will be around long.

I loved eating at McAlister's for lunch when they had the old location on Siegen. Was sad when it closed.
I travel a lot, all over the midwest and the western part of the country. Tens of thousands of miles so far this year. I like McAlister's for a quick stop that's better than your average fast food. Love their potato salad and the lemonade. Been to locations in a over a half dozen states this year. Always good service and food, regardless of the ethnicity of the employees.
Was happy to see BR was getting another one. Decided to meet someone for lunch there Monday. Looked up the address Sunday night and was shocked at how poorly it was rated (2.5 stars). Read some of the reviews, and it was apparent that the place was infected with that common issue you find in so many places in Louisiana when it comes to the quality of the employees and lousy service and sub par food.
Got there about 11:30. Not much parking for all the seating inside. Parked in the rear of the building. Right as I got out my car, the lady that turned out to be the manager comes out the back door, and proceeds to go nuclear on someone on the other end of the phone pressed to her ear. M-F this and frick you that. She knew she was being watched but didn't care in the least.
Went inside and ordered. There were four women and one guy working. Three women and the dude in the back and one woman taking orders. Only two other people were in the place at that time eating.
Unlike every other location I've been to, instead of giving you a numbered plaque that you place on the stand at your table and they bring your food to you, the clerk just took your name. There was a stack of number plaques sitting there unused right by the register.
Took forever to get the food. Orders were steady going out the drive thru, but none of the dine in orders were coming out. Place was pretty empty inside. Twice went to the register to see what the hold up was, and the second time the clerk just yells to the back asking where our food was.
She finally called my name, and I went up and got my food. And again unlike every other location I've been to, instead of giving you your dine in order on a plate, they just threw it in a bag just like Subway.
Sat down and unwrapped my sandwich. I got a Memphian, which comes with turkey, ham, roast beef, spring mix, tomato, provolone, mayo, and spicy brown mustard. The sandwich was half assed and made with zero care. Tons of mayo and just a small dab of mustard. I brought it back to the counter and pointed out the lack of mustard. The clerk acted like she was being bothered, but passed it back through the window. The manager took it and proceeded to just squeeze an obscene amount on it, although when she came to the front of house and handed it back to me, she said she saw how the person that made it didn't put any on it.
I got back to my table and used the wrapper to wipe most of the mustard back off the sandwich. Like I said, it was just made with zero care. Half the meat was outside the bun, mayo all over the bread. Just crap. But hey, the potato salad was as good as usual.
Took two bites and realized something else was off. Took a closer look at it, and realized they hadn't put any roast beef on it.
I brought it back up to the counter, and the order taker didn't want to hear it. Yelled in the back for the manager to come take care of it, like I was wrong for wanting to get what I ordered and paid for. She sat there making snide comments under her breath to the lady that was ordering food in line.
The manager came out, I pointed out another missing ingredient, and she acted like she didn't know what to do. I said, just give me my money back. I'm done. She threw it in the garbage and asked for my receipt. I gave it too her, and as she went to hand it to the order taker running the register, that person said such and such person had to do it since I'd paid with a debit card. The manager said it was going to take a few minutes to get someone to take care of it. She stepped out of view for a couple minutes, then came back out with her phone on her ear, apparently talking to another manager. She went to the second, unused register and had to be walked through step by step on how to refund my money. Had no clue how to run the system. Kept screwing up and having to start over. Took forever, but the person on the other end of the call finally was able to walk her through it, and I got my refund receipt and promptly left.
Stood around for a minute outside by my car talking to my friend when the rude arse clerk that was taking orders busted out the back door, ran over to the dumpster, and started puking her guts out on the ground. At that point, I just busted out laughing.
What a utter shite show. That place doesn't deserve ever 2.5 stars.
Like I said, I've never had less than good experiences at McAlister's. I often ride one of my motorcycles to the McComb location to eat lunch when I'm home in Louisiana, and it's damn good.
The ghetto effect is strong with this one.

I didn’t read all that crap but McAlisters food is not good. It tastes like it all comes from a processing plant. I’ve never been a fan.

Most quick service restaurants serving sandwiches do have deli meats and breads and condiments that come from processing plants. How many restaurants make their ham from raw meat and bread from dough?

I quit going to McAlister's when they stopped serving an actual grilled chicken breast as a sandwich. They now serve sliced chicken breast. It's not the same, and the quality is terrible.
I actually went once to the McAlister's on Burbank, and the service was very slow around lunchtime (and they weren't busy).

Went once earlier this year. Terrible experience and food. Paid way too much for what we got. Never again.

I promise the ones in Manhattan, Kansas, or Colorado Springs, or just about anywhere that isn't in Louisiana are nothing like this one.
My bud that I met for lunch is from Lafayette and said the one there is just as bad, but doesn't have the ghetto to blame it on.
It's probably just because everything in Louisiana sucks. I've been working all over the country the last 7 years, and the change in attitude once you cross the state line is very apparent.
