Yeah, I can’t speak for the Midwest but I’d venture to guess I’ve been in a lot more homes in the northeast for a meal than that guy, and maybe I’m just lucky and have friends who are great cooks, but I don’t eat poorly when I go over.

No, there’s a lot of amazing food in a lot of different places. The fact that you think that LA is the only place with good food is much more of an indictment on you than it is food outside LA.
... this is more than true, absolute Fact ...
Just last week I went to the Amish Market up here in Westtown PA and had some exceptional eats. Their comfort food is amazing and tasty, never bland. They can cook circles around anyone's chicken dish, biscuits, pretzels, and meat dishes. You wouldn't think the Amish could do this, but they can and will.

Can we all acknowledge and appreciate the troll job of the OP? Drops a ridiculously dumb opinion like a bomb and hasn’t been heard from since.
Well played, OP.
Well played, OP.

Yes, unfortunately we judge the fatties who are an economical drain on our healthcare system.
GTFO.

Creole and Cajun cuisine is fantastic and the home-cooked plates are great. But I’m sorry, restaurant food in Louisiana, is for the most part, abominable. The main innovation in restaurants seems to be giant portions slathered in a gelatinous sludge of cream and crawfish tails or lump crabmeat. It’s disgusting. There are a few restaurants that are very good, not great. I’ve lived in big cities on both coasts and the food is laughably superior to what you get in Louisiana.

Why gtfo? I agree they are an economical drain.
Oh wait, I see now. What I meant to say was
“And unfortunately a lot more, judging by the number of fatties everywhere.”
Cheers.

Other places people like to taste the FOOD, not just the cayenne.
I’ve had several people from the NE tell me this. When we actually started talking about the food and cooking processes, it was obvious they didnt know shite.

Tell me about the restaurants that you've eaten at while in New Orleans

It depends on what kind of food. Asian food in NorCal is absolutely the BEST!!!

There are very good, but not great restaurants in New Orleans. Sorry to tell you the news. You tell me about the restaurants you’ve eaten at while in NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, London, Tokyo, Osaka, Miami, Houston, Sydney. Then we can compare who can bring an informed opinion.

Meh. NO ranks #3 or 4 in the country with restaurant rankings.
With your description of the “slop” you described, I was just trying to see what top places in Nola did you order this from.
And just to be clear, I did comment earlier in the thread that there are tons of other great food cities and regions that do good food in this country. The OP is a little crazy in the head

I still still in generally, we have it good eating in La. From home cooks, to gas station food, to hole in the wall, and up to the high end place in Nola.
I've been to weddings/parties in different parts of the country and can't believe sometimes how boring people can be about their food choices.
Last weekend I was at a company Christmas party and the catering wasn't by anyone special, but these items were all really great-
Etouffee
Chicken andouille gumbo
Mini Muffalettas
Fried shrimp, chicken, and spicy wings.
Bread pudding.
Other stuff was just average stuff, but the above were all really great.

Any major city in the US has great food but the indictment of horrible food is small towns in middle America. As an example, if you have ever been to gatlinburg you have seen it.
