Eh, she'll be jsut fine.

She'll kick the dog to it's proper place, like every good mom does and stop cussing like a sailor too.

Good lord people over-value dogs in our society. Kids go hungry all over America and yall are passing out cookies and steak trimmings to canines. A lot of posters in here probably think Mike Vick didn't do enough time.

A.

And it won't be changing anytime soon. Kids suck, in general.

I feed my labs frozen raw fish fillets a couple times a week, they love it and its very good for them. Also do raw chicken livers and puree broccoli and carrots to mix in, sometimes add rice or oats. I would never feed them the shite you do, but I do give them more than regular dry dog food. I also recently switched to fresh select, its a little more expensive but much healthier and they love it.

It's not the responsibility of those cooking for their dogs to feed anyone outside of their family. If you don't finish your plate, do you save the left-overs and bring them to a shelter?

If someone was cooking for their dog and letting their own children starve, then you'd have a point.

Why?

Because I don't want kids right now?

Of course it isn't. Who said it is? I bet you'd bring a puppy home before a baby though?

The person whom I responded to implied it.

Don't need either at the moment, but if I was forced to pick, then yes. Puppies are much easier.

I always heard people say this was bad for dogs, but every dog I've known of to eat like this seems to out live dogs who eat only corn meal and meat by products (what cheap dog foods are made of)

One thing is for sure...dogs eat boiled rice and chicken in the wild.

Thing is Dogs aren't wild, they have been domesticated since way before recorded history. Eating the scraps and leftovers of man.

What Zach is doing by feeding his dogs leftovers, is closer to the Dogs upbringing that the processed dog foods we use now, that have been in existence for less than a hundred years.

Dogs aren't wild, but there was this cool video I saw one time of these Russians breeding Foxes until they became dogs. Took 26 generations to do.
quote:

The domesticated silver fox (marketed as the Siberian fox) is a domesticated form of the silver morph of the red fox. As a result of selective breeding, the new foxes became not only tamer, but more dog-like as well.

I'm not saying a dog can't live a healthy and happy life on leftovers. What I'm saying is it is hardly "natural" for a dog to eat boiled rice, boiled chicken and carrots. The weirdo breeder I got my last dog from cooked her brood stock organ meat every day. She also lived in a trailer...Her dogs lived a much shorter life than my Ol' Roy dog.
