Do you use dates in cooking?

My impulse buy at the store the other day was a container of dates and I forgot how sweet they are. I've heard they can be used in some savory dishes like a Thai curry to add some sweetness to the sauce without throwing in palm sugar or whatever.
I have no idea what to do with these things or how long they're shelf stable

we eat a lot of dates. They are good for you and have tons of minerals and fiber. Easy way is a date smoothie…dates, frozen bananas, cocoa powder, dairy or dairy substitute (coconut milk is a favorite)
Also grilled dates stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon are a fantastic appetizer.
dates are also excellent in a braise, chicken and pork especially

Fill them with almonds or pumpkin seeds for a great snack. I make a BBQ sauce with them.
