Wife and I are meet some folks at Hayride Scandal and looking to go to dinner after.

Any suggestions. Not pizza and not super fine dinning. Anything in between

Elsie's is a good recommendation if you've never been. It's good. If you don't want that, Jed's local is also solid. It's on Jefferson but right near the intersection with Government.

The food at Superior is slightly above average, but it’s a fun atmosphere. It will be packed tonight, however.

Rocca is real good. So is Elsie’s. Soji is hit or miss. I’m a big fan of Doe’s.

Both are very solid choices. Had Jed's fried oyster poboy a week or two ago and was happy with that plus their gumbo is quite good.

[e] Here's my not so good pic of good food:

Soji,

Get the Pork Tenderloin Katsudon and some cocktails. Stellar meal.

Elsie’s is my favorite.
I’ve been wanting to try Soji
White Star has lots of good choices.
Curbside and Jed’s are both solid.
Thai Pepper is a little ways off government, but worth it, imo.
Superior is expensive, but very good and fun with the strong margs and bands
