Search came up empty, so if this has already been answered, my apologies. Looking for a nice dinner place in DC. It will be 3 couples, and the ladies will probably not be willing to try anything "weird," meaning things like fois gras, escargot, sweetbreads, etc. Maybe a good steak or seafood place, with a few options for those a little more adventurous? I've read several recommendations on various websites, but nothing just jumps out at me. TIA

Jaleo and Zaytinya I have been to and really enjoyed.
I also like Cuba Libre as well

I like Central, Michele Richard's place. It's pretty straightforward bistro food, well executed and tasty. Of Jose Andres' places I've tried in DC, I liked the Mexican place, didn't care for Jaleo.

Both of those are good recs and I will add Marcels, my fav in DC. Small, intimate, service and great food superb, great bar for after dinner with live music. $$ but man, wonderful. 2401 Pennsylvania Ave as I remember.

Central and Citronelle are both excellent as well. As for Weidemeiers resturants in addition to Marcels he has Brasserie Beck, more casual and less$$.. Both named for his sons.Hard to go wrong in DC if you do your research, everyone has a personal choice. Just go to a bunch of them. I have done Central for lunch then Marcels for pre show pre fixe at Kennedy then Becks for lunch and Citronelle for dinner the next night.
WOW!!

I had a good meal recently at Stanton and Green. Jaleo is good as others have said.

More include Tosca, Fiola, and Filomena for Italian. Komi was UNREAL but only seats tables of four. Visalia is another one not mentioned. Do oyster happy hour at old ebbitts as well
