For reasons beyond my control I will be in Marrero/Harvey most of the day tomorrow. Where is a good place to get lunch or dinner?

I definitely wouldn't refer to it as "dining"

Your best bet, for me personally, is Asian food. I like Tan Dinh or Banana Blossom, both in Gretna

Not fancy but good. Olive Branch cafe, only been to the Marrero one.

Daiwa for sushi.

Plenty of fried seafood places.

Lots of chains in that area.

Are you looking for something specific?

I rarely cross the river to eat, but when I do, it’s usually China Doll.

Banana Blossom (Thai) is good too.

I am not, I will be visiting a sick relative in the West Jeff med center and just wanted something nearby that wasn't drive thru fast food.

For seafood, Sal's Seafood on Barataria and Perino's Boiling Point on WB Expwy are close by and good - both usually have boiled and fried.

As noted earlier, the WB has great Asian places. Might need to drive over to Gretna for the best ones ( Banana Blossom, 9 Roses, Thanh Thanh, etc).

If you want something very casual go to China Doll in the shopping center on the corner of Manhattan and the West Bank Expressway.

If you want pizza there is always Mo’s in Westwego.

I ate lunch at Schnells a few weeks ago. It was alright, 1970s diner vibes.
