I passed by this morning and the sign has changed. It's Rudy's Seafood & Steakhouse now.

Watson, LA – Duke's in Watson is officially changing its name to Rudy's, while the Denham Springs location will retain the name Duke's. Rudy Chandler, who has been in partnership with Duke Landry, will continue to operate the Watson location.
According to the post, the name change comes with assurances to loyal customers: the staff will remain unchanged, and the menu will be the same. Additionally, Duke’s gift cards will be honored at Rudy’s for a limited time.
When questioned about the use of gulf shrimp, the restaurant replies to stay tuned.
Customers are invited to visit Rudy's in Watson to enjoy the same great food and service they’ve come to expect under the new name.

Rudy and Duke have always been partners from what I understand. Rudy has run the Watson location, and Duke the Denham. I think maybe the just decided to split partnership and each just take a location.

Any seafood restaurant in S Louisiana that doesn't use gulf shrimp cannot be taken seriously.
Don's over Duke's all day long. And even moreso now that Chandler has his greasy hands on it out in the open

I agree 100%, though I think there are quite a few flying under the radar

Is this the same Rudy that owns End of the Line bar?

We've asked two different waitstaff on separare visits there if the shrimp was imported since their menus say "may be imported" and they both replied "yes."
It's always been super tiny and mediocre. Still can't get over how their water cups taste like cleaning supplies.
