Desperate Gumbo Help Request

A close friend of mine lost her eldest in an unexpected fishing accident today. Recovery of body still underway.
As you might expect, she is devastated and broken on the news.
One thing her social group is planning to do is to shower the family with food so they don’t have to worry about it while they grieve.
She loves my gumbo recipe, and I’m pretty good at making it, so that’s not my question.
My question is the ratio of meat/broth gumbo to rice.
For convince sake I want to give it to her in portions sized one to one of put this amount over a half cup of rice (or whatever it is) for comvinance sake. She’ll be getting a big batch with a sizable portion frozen which is why I want to presize the frozen portions to a per serving basis. But I’ve only ever served it as a big pot of each for self serve so I have no measurement of ratios between
Any one has guidance on that ratio would be greatly appreciated. I know it’s a loaded opinion question with no right answer but I’d appreciate to see the TD expert opinions.

I freeze gumbo in quart containers. When we pull one out the freezer, I make 1 cup of rice. The quart is 3-4 servings for us. So I guess 1/4 cup of rice (uncooked) per serving.

You can get Tupperware like containers in many different sizes. Go as to the number of people eating. Remember, you can make a bunch of small containers, she can take out more than one at a time.

Hard to say because everybody has different preferences. First of all, I wouldn't freeze the rice in with the gumbo. Put just gumbo in the small containers and let them just make rice when they want to eat some.
But if you insist on freezing it all together as a ready-made meal, I'd probably do 2 heaping tablespoons of cooked rice to 1-1 1/2 ladles of gumbo.

I suggest freezing the cooked rice in 2 cup portions in zippered sandwich bags. They can thaw and use in the amount necessary to feed the number of people eating.

The amount of rice is a personal choice. Some folks like to load the bowl with rice. Others do not.
I would not freeze the rice in the gumbo. The rice will soak up the juices and be a mess.
I wouldn't freeze cooked rice either. I don't care for frozen rice.
You can send a bag of rice with the gumbo portions that she can cook herself in the amounts needed. OR, you could buy bags of Uncle Ben's Ready Rice or the Minute Rice cups, both of which are microwaved in a minute. The rice is fine. We keep those on hand at my Mom's when she wants gumbo from the freezer for just herself.

I wouldn’t freeze the rice. It may get mushy when thawed. When I give other people gumbo, I just give people a gallon ziplock full of cooked rice and they can portion it out however they like.

I do that if they're going to eat the gumbo right away, but not if I'm giving them frozen gumbo. I don't recommend freezing the rice.

I’m a little bothered that only 1 and a half even understood the question as opposed to talking about tangential matters (the whole purpose of asking the question is to freeze the gumbo separate from the rice. It was how much gumbo per cup of rice. If they were together I wouldn’t have a question.)
But I thank those for their help.

The answer is subjective and you want to ruin a perfectly good batch of rice by freezing it in portions. You want to go ahead with your plan? By all means do it.
Cook some rice, scoop how much of it you like into whatever bowl you use for gumbo. Measure how much you scooped, and there is your answer for rice. Put the rice back into the bowl and fill it with liquid. Remove rice and measure liquid, and that is how much gumbo you need to portion out.

There is no magic ration of gumbo to rice.
I usually figure a cup and a half of gumbo (1.5 cups) per serving of gumbo without the rice. 1 cup of cooked rice in that would be too much rice for me.
Also, when I'm freezing gumbo in single servings, I use a pint container, so there's more than 1.5 cups in that even if I don't fill it to the top. Your friend can use the entire cup of rice or less as she wishes.
I recommend against giving your friend frozen rice as stated above even though that apparently was not your question.

You are way overthinking this
No one worth a shite cares if you get rice portions a little off if they are relying on someone else to feed themselves
