I'll even throw in that they have pretty good po-boys too.. I like the gumbo but its a little thick for my taste.

gotta get the chicken sausage gumbo.....i really like the french dip....so much, i just about cannot order anything else.
the poboys are good, chicken with crawfish sauce is a winner (same sauce on top of the potato), boudin balls, fried fish.
hell, its all good. go to eat....and by eat, i mean - not getting a salad.
oh...and the sweeeet tea is a winner, too!

George,
My wife is 8 months pregnant and found out two months ago she has gestational diabetes. She has had to cut the sugars and carbs to minimum. She is requesting is that once she has the baby and is still in the hospital for me to deliver a seafood stuffed potato from Dempsey's.

if you like fried chicken breasts...we don't fry chicken on the bone, but if you like poboys, i suggest you get the chicken, bacon, and cheddar poboy

2 nights ago, after reading this thread, i decided to order a shrimp poboy and some fries. like i've done 100 times, and i love it every time. their fries are the best in town, imo. i live behind dempseys so i order a lot. i had 4 bites of my poboy and decided the shrimp tasted funny. an hour later i was in considerable pain. a few hours after that i was puking my guts up. all night, all morning, and most of the day yesterday. i called them last night to tell them to check their shrimp bc i thought they might have a rotten batch and i dont think the girl believed me. so anyways, i'd like to thank everyone in this thread who made me want dempseys, and also dempseys, for a most heinous case of food poisoning
